Peak Formation
Colossal geodes that we call home
Most mountains across the world are actually giant crystal geodes. Beneath the stone layer, networks of crystal formations can be found containing various types of Crystal Energy. These crystal veins can be mined out and used to power technology, weapons and magic across the world.
The deeper you go into the earth, the more dense the crystal becomes until you reach its 'core': a massive deposit of energy that provides a seemingly endless supply of crystal. Though the crystal forms at a rather slow rate. Trying to mine directly into the core of a peak has devastating consequences. Unless you're a giant.
General Makeup
Most peak cores are made up one primary elemental crystal with an almost even ratio of 'base' energy crystal. Occasionally, small deposits of rarer crystals related to the element of the core can be found.
Atmospheric Variances
It's very common for the crystal makeup of a peak's core to affect its climate. For example, a peak with a storm-element core may often see rainy or stormy weather, and water-based cores are more likely to have springwater, or even turn peaks into enormous basins of water.
