In the Gloamwood, there are mineral structures capable of storing energy of various kinds. These crystals are the primary source of energy and magic in this world; they can be tapped into and used to power machines and be channelled by people to affect the world around them.
'Base' energy is the most versatile form of energy available; suitable for powering anything from your household lighting to behemoth ships' fuel engines. Elemental energy is also in abundance, from the storm-powered Tempest crystal to Void crystals that seem to gain energy from the Abyss itself.
