Verdant Hills
Named for their vibrant green, the Verdant Hills are a scenic series of rolling foothills around the base of the Poinargri range located in the center of the Trackless. The color of the Hills is mostly attributed to the massive conifers crowded their slopes, the hazy mint color of the rocks and soil is caused by the large amounts of copper found throughout the Hills, possibly extending into the Poinargri to the south. The town of Bitter Creek was founded to mine copper from these hills and even takes its name from the flavor of the water caused by the metal.
Geography
Rocky, wooded hills known for their mineral deposits (mostly copper) and massive coniferous trees. Crisscrossed with streams and creeks fed by mountain lakes and snow-melt, the Verdant Hills are known for the early morning fog that hangs under the boughs of the pines and firs which often doesn't burn off until midday. The deep rocky gorges shrouded in mist stay icy throughout the day, while the bald hilltops and lightly wooded ridges can reach scorching temperatures by midday.
