Members of the Colonial Conference agree to form the Imperial Council
Political event
The participants of a Colonial Conference in 1901 (UK, Canada, Australia, Cape Colony, Natal, Newfoundland and New Zealand) agree to Joseph Chamberlain's proposal of an Imperial Council, effectively creating an Imperial Parliament that would be able to vote on Empire wide policy. They would later agree to an economic union and a unified imperial defence scheme. More British dominions would later join in on the plan.
