Skybeard Mountain

Geography
Skybeard is a massive mountain rising almost ten kilometers above sea level. The western slope down into the foothills is covered in a massive pine forest. The lower eastern slope is largely oak forests with many lakes and streams. These waters flow down become the headwaters for the Bitterbite River, named for the coldness of the waters.
Climate
Skybeard is under a temperate mountain climate. Their winters are cold and summers warm. It receives a tremendous amount of precipitation. Temperatures can vary greatly depending on elevation.
Fauna & Flora
Oak, pine, and small groves of other types cover two sides of Skybeard. Deer, elk, wild goats and boars roam these Forrest's. The waters are plentifull in fish, mostly salmon.
Natural Resources
The forests of Skybears lower elevation are plentiful sources of wood and game. Terraced farmland are located on the southern slope. Beneath the mountain are the oldest mines in the world. Millennia after the first pick hit stone the mines of Skybeard are still sources of tremendous wealth. The greatest of which are the deposits of Elemental Steel that have been discovered. Other metals such as gold, iron and copper are also in copious quantities. Veins of marble and quality granite are also in abundance .
History
Skybeard is the home of the oldest seat of dwarves, Caer Deepdale . Founded over two millennia ago it remains the seat of power for Clan Stoneborn. Skybeard is often called the birthplace of the dwarves as those who evolved into the dwarves first took shelter under it's stones.
