Felport
Geography
The island of Felport has a large deep water harbor. The island itself has a single large peak with the land falling away to hills and curving around to the north, forming the northern edge of the protected harbor.
Climate
Subtropic island. It has warm and humid summers and mild winters. Subtropic climates have very defined wet dry seasons and copious amounts of precipitation. This allows for vast and lush vegetation to thrive.
Fauna & Flora
The waters around the Island of Felport have some of the best fishing grounds in the region. On land deer, rabbits and wild pigs have high populations, both wild and domesticated. The archipelago is also blessed with a broad range of medical plants found in it's jungles. Merchant guilds have been known to fund trips into the jungles to harvest these materials.
Natural Resources
The forests are full of hardwood which has given rise to the fame of Felport's shipbuilding industry. Coal, iron and copper have also been found in the few mines on the southern side of the island.
History
A small smugglers base was on the island many centuries ago. It was run by a man named Fel and it was known as Fel's port. As time passed the location proved a boon for cross sea trade. This caused more and more people to move there and what started as a small village with a single dock grew into a large city. Other small villages dot the island, most providing food to the city now known as Felport.
Over the centuries various organizations and groups claimed rulership over Felport. Pirates from time to time still strive to capture the city. But over the years merchants invested more and more on the island that a legitimate government was needed and with the merchants blessing it became so. Centuries have passed with a Lord Mayor of Felport exercising control over the entire Island with a small but fierce navy protecting it's waters.
