Unveiled
Up to date: Summer 2025
When a Changeling is Unveiled, their Changeling Glamour is brittled, but not broken.
They carry distinct Fey traits, like pointy ears and a wide variety of hair, eye and skin colors, but are otherwise completely human.
Prolonged time as Unveiled also affects a Changeling when or if they do become a full Fey, retaining their childhood memories as well as much more of their humanity and autonomy.

Transmission & Vectors
A Changeling can only become Unveiled through a magical trigger.
Causes
The trigger event brittles the Changeling Glamour, but it does not completely break it.
Symptoms
A Changeling’s Fey heritage is exposed through changes in their apparel:
Their ears reveal their natural pointiness.
The glamour hiding their true colors (skin, eyes, hair) dissolves.

Treatment
There is only one way to pass from being Unveiled, and that is to have the Changeling Glamour dispelled completely - an act that usually requires a ritual performed by shamans (like völva or seidwives).
Prognosis
Unveiled is a static, stable condition for the most part, though it does come with the occasional Fey Moods – a several month ‘catatonic depression’ state.
Seing as the Unveiled condition was unheard of before The Unravelling in 2012, there are no base for longer studies than ~10 years.

Sequela
Fey Mood are directly linked with the Unveiled condition. At the time, it is believed that no Unveiled Changeling experiences a seven year span without a Fey Mood.
Affected Groups
Only Changelings can be affected, as it is a status of their Glamour, however every Changeling is as likely to experience it, but it is activated by an outside trigger.
Prevention
In theory, a magical artifact or an empowering spell might be devised to strengthen the Changeling Glamour against breaking, but it has not been seen in practice.
History
The first example of this condition happened in December of 2012, at the triggering event called The Unravelling, when the mighty magic spell called The Great Veil was unravelled.
This released a pulse of magical power that dispelled every curse, glamour and illusion present in Our World.
With one event every hidden Changeling became Unveiled at once.
Since then new Unveiled only occur, when a child is actively tested for Fey genes.

Cultural Reception
Unveiled are at odds with every understanding and ideology of what should be.
To parents they are the reminder that their true child is possibly elsewhere, or has possibly met a horrible end.
To humans in general they are a new, scary minority of weirdly colored human-like beings, trying to be a part of society.
To the beings of Otherworld, they are pitied, but expected to break their Glamour as is their expected Fate.
