The Longhall

Up to date: Summer 2025

The Longhall is one of two multifloored rectangular halls that form the settlement of Evergreen in the otherwise nature-dominated gated community.
Its iconic design serves as the symbol for Evergreen, and it was with the Longhall’s completion, Evergreen became the first public Fey Fort of Lower Saxony.

Purpose / Function

The Longhall is where all Fey Folk of Evergreen meet for announcements and meals. It also holds the offices of the Dísir (the ruling ladies of Evergreen).

Architecture

The building is an impressive display of modern brick work combined with Alf innovation, where large wooden beams form a pillar design like natural trees rising from every corner of the building to rise up and spread out into branches holding up the roof.
On the short end of the rectangular hall, leading directly to the dinner hall, the wall is entirely made of glass panels. Framed by the two cornerstone trees, gives the view from within a feeling of staring out on a clearing from an ancient oak forest.
While this design looks impressive and distinctly foreign on the outside, the inside hallways and offices have a modern school-like feeling to it, which contrasts with this.
It stands as a symbol of the Fey Folk presence in Our World, tall and proud and unapologetically Otherworldly in its design.

Defenses

While the walls are definitely built to last, the only defenses of Evergreen is the surrounding wall and the ever present vigilance of the Dísir.

History

The Longhall was the first building in the newly approved and outlined area that would become the Fey Fort, Evergreen.
The large dining hall served as the dormitory until the dormitory building was finished two months later.

Tourism

Human tourism is very rare in Fey Forts, but the curious design of the Longhall does lure in the occasional brave adventurer, who are often welcomed and allowed to take pictures of the grand hall.
Fey Folk are known to travel between Fey Forts and are expected hospitality during their stay.
