Gimlé

Up to date: Summer 2025

A city inside Gimlé the Mountain, surrounded by the plane Ithavöll where once stood Asgard. It is an Otherworld settlement, mentioned historically as a meeting place of the Gods, and where the survivors of Ragnarok gather.
It is a gem-filled mountain that could protect them form the fire of Surtur.
In a region otherwise only occupied by Light Alfs.

Demographics

The city is almost exclusively inhabited by Vettir. The few Jotunn living there are Vettir spouses and should you meet anyone of another species, they’d surely have an interesting tale behind them.

Industry & Trade

Their big exports are gems and Otherworld exclusive plants and animal products, all going through the Light Alf village of Idisiaviso.

Guilds and Factions

The remaining Asir still hold a special status in the halls of Gimlé, but as the only recipients of Idunn's Golden Fruit, they are easily the oldest and possibly the wisest.

History

Originally just a mine, Gimlé first became a true settlement, after Ragnarok, where the remaining Asir made their shelter into a home. They opened their doors for other Vettir tribes and even extended an open invitation to the hardy Vettir of Niflheim, once left there as the most severe punishment. Many accepted, but even more stayed behind, in their own cold and inhospitable mountain.
Time and hard work has evolved Gimlé to a true hub of Vettir culture, thriving on an endless flow of alcohol and incredible tales.

Tourism

A weary traveller is never turned away, but tourism is hardly an existing concept.
The travel to and from Gimlé needs to go through the Fey Fort in Idisiaviso, and most humans have yet to even dare set foot in Otherworld.
The relatively close Fey Grove Evergreen sometimes arrange excursions for their Changelings to experience the splendor of Gimlé.

Architecture

Much of Gimle is made directly carved into the rock or of wood from the surrounding forests. It feels old and dark in its dim lit halls of torches and candles. Technology travels slowly through worlds that break all electronic devices.

Natural Resources

Stone and wood in abundance. As are gems mined there. Fields and pastures in the surrounding land brings all the food they need.
