Fey Pheromones

Up to date: Summer 2025

Fey pheromones are secreted with their other excretions, particularly sweat. Where pheromones in most other species are meant to be received and by their own species, Fey pheromones are meant to work on other species alone, as they are evolved to be part of their ‘predatory’ or 'parasitic' nature.

Properties

Physical & Chemical Properties

Exposure triggers a specific emotion in the recipient as well as a luring effect, drawing them closer, even if the emotion is an unpleasant one.

Origin & Source

The pheromones are a byproduct of a specialized gland found only in Fey bodies. Its purpose is to receive the Passion triggered endorphins released by the brain and turn them into nourishment for their stomachs.
To some Fey this system can completely overhaul their intake needs, but to most, it is just a supplement. To the luckiest ones it is a non-factor.

Life & Expiration

A trained animal nose can still find a scent after several days, but besides that, any lingering smell and effect dissipates within half an hour at the most.

History & Usage

History

There are many tales that tell of the supernatural lure of Feys: The luring songs of Sirens or Mermaids. The addictive lust towards Succubi.
It is no small part of the ‘Fey Folk Scare’ that is running through human society. It is no wonder that the subject of Fey pheromones has caught the curiosity of researchers within many branches of science, whether it be for a cure, utilization or other mysterious purposes. Maybe that’s why Succubus bath water sells so well …but probably not.

Discovery

Several daring scientists have laid claim to the same scientific discoveries concerning Fey in general, and their pheromones are no exception.
There are still to come officially known uses of the pheromones in any products beyond as an alleged base for a popular perfume line.

Everyday use

While most younger Fey make an effort out of avoiding to inflict unwanted emotions upon others, there are still cases of Feys terrorising or utilizing their pheromones to feed their parasitic needs, leading to legal, bureaucratic and literal nightmares.

Cultural Significance and Usage

Some traditions and rituals make use of specific Passion infused pheromones, which are still practiced today, both out of tradition and as an open acceptance and respect of the Fey.

Manufacturing & Products

Subtracting enough pheromones from excretions would require too many Fey to make a larger production readily possible, which is the main cause of doubt in the validity of any use in beauty products.

Hazards

While the strength and nature of the pheromones vary widely between Fey, some produce a potent enough scent that it may be addictive, or that continued exposure may even be mood or life draining.

Distribution

Law & Regulation

Some countries were quick to outlaw any consumption or other self-exposure as illegal, while others are still weighing the ramifications to a new minorty by outright illegalizing an uncontrollable byproduct.
