Blessing of the Crops

Up to date: Summer 2025

A yearly tradition, set on Summer Solstice, where Nymphs dance across the fields of the world, improving the crops through their Aspect connection.
It is said to be an entrancing thing to behold, and it increases the health and yield of the affected fields.

History

An ancient practice, from before The Great Veil was placed, is still referenced in folklore today, like the Romanian Sânziene ritual, where it was believed that the heavens opened up and beautiful fairies would dance above the fields, bringing fertility to crops and humans alike.
Then came centuries from where there are no mentions at all, but the humans themselves imitated the ancient practices with their own fair maidens in light dresses.
With The Unravelling, it has been revealed that the ancient tales were true and for the silent centuries, the Fey were still here, though invisible to the human eye. Now these Nymphs are again visible, performing their entrancing dance across the fields, strengthening the crops through their Aspect connection.

Execution

While the Nymphs might appear to be flying above the fields, it is actually a temporary effect of their attunement to their Aspect, that allows them to stand upon even the lightest leaf without it bending underneath them.

Participants

The dancers themselves are Fey – Nymphs specifically, visiting either alone or in various sized groups, different from region to region, as the keen observe will notice, that they are the same returning Nymphs each year.
Tolerant humans might be present as observers or performing their own rituals alongside them, but they are merely the situational audience for a performance from the Nymphs to their plant Aspects.

Observance

On the eve of the Summer Solstice, nymphs travel from Otherworld to perform a dance across the fields.
In accepted fields, they are allowed to perform the dance unhindered before disappearing again without a trace. Usually coinciding with other local celebrations on this midsummer eve, they sometimes see themselves become the new headline along with songs and bonfires.
