Personal history
Valtera Cathur was a Calatassi nobleman from Quaevum and officer in the Quaevum navy.
Valtera was part of the plans to overthrow the Calatasshone Trading Company and the Calatassi United Council to strengthen the role of the nobility in Calatasshone. Alongside Torn Peinbyne, he killed the originator of the plot in his sleep.
Valtera began his career in the Quaevum navy as a junior officer in 729 PT. He commanded the QMS Prasencranst in 831 PT in sea patrols, sinking three ships belonging to the West Isolation League, a union of the colonies of Prevateio, Valecia, and Anapatsia. Valtera was commended for these actions by the Colonial Navigation Board and they offered him a position on the board, piloting a ship for the CTC, but he declined this offer.
After his actions patrolling the Scale Sea, he was promoted to Chief Navigator aboard the QMS Rakke, where he was third in command of the heavily-armed hulk.
By 850 PT, Valtera was a chief instructor in the Quaevum officer academy, using his position to further his plans. He sent the Pilgrims of Calatasshone, including his niece Imarece Cathur, on a journey to stop a fight breaking out.
After the QMS Pride of Hesto went missing, he directed the Rakke to a more southern patrol route in hopes of finding them. When they discovered the Pilgrims again, he interrogated their CTC prisoners.
