Colonial Navigation Board
History
The Colonial Navigation Board was an independent branch of the Calatasshone Trading Company responsible for regulating the movement of ships around the Calatasshone archipelago. It also organised an anti-piracy fleet drawn from the naval militias of the individual colonies. The Navigation Board retained a degree of independence from the CTC, but still gave priority to CTC vessels.
Most anti-piracy operations were conducted against Sourian or Orcish pirates, making the Navigation Board a method of regulating coastal Sourian communities. The Board delegated responsibility to ships 'on patrol', which gave many ambitious colonial captains free reign to conduct raids against the Sourians. These communities had very little recourse against the Board for these patrols, which frequently resulted in the deaths of many natives and the taking of slaves.
