Personal history
Spastian the Cowardly was briefly the king of Ferraria after he assassinated his nephew, Ferran the Miner , and brother-in-law in attempt to seize his new crown and the kingdom that came with it.
Spastian became the administrator of his ancestral hold after Ferran the Miner took control of the region during his expansion conquests. Relations between the two were fairly amicable, but Spastian feared that Ferran's son, Hematitus , would take his lands from him after Ferran died. Thus, Spastian hoped that a quick coup would give him control. He allegedly received Republian backing to do this. Unbeknownst to him, the Republians did this in the hope of destablising the region.
Spastian killed his nephew and brother-in-law with poison, and took residence in Ferran's Hold shortly after their burial. However, most of the people in the growing city were distrustful of Spastian (but it wasn't public knowledge that he had killed the king). When the truth twas revealed, however, Spastian was chased from the city. Hematitus chased Spastian backed to Spastian's home keep, where Hematitus killed him in a duel to the death. Spastian's body was hung from the gates of the keep and his head thrown deep into the mines beneath the keep. Hematitus was later crowned Atitus the Conqueror.
