Branuk family
History
The Branuk family were a highly influential noble Ferrarian family in Ferraria. They controlled the ancient swamp-keep of Swatholm and were some of the greatest shipbuilders in history, controlling most of Lake Yekar during their existence.
The Branuks were often rivals to the Oboror family of Ferran's Hold as they were the most powerful thassals of the King of Ferraria. Branuk Lords of the Lake were frequently crucial advisers to the king, and they were often leaders of large rebellions against the king.
The Branuk family were severely crippled after the War of the Dragon, and the adviser Filp Ugbo of King Durwn the First led an anti-piracy campaign on Lake Yekar that caused Branuk power to diminish further.
During the Fourth Ferrarian Civil War, the Branuk family were minor players, but Swatholm was a founding member of the Yekarian Confederation.
