Barvolte
History
Barvolte was a human colony on the island of High Ward, Calatasshone. The colony was founded in the first wave of colonisation of Calatasshone by the Repuvian Knights. Barvolte was one of the strongest colonies throughout the history of the Coloniate System, as it had a military foundation. The Fortress of Barvolte was constructed to impose human rule over High Ward and the surrounding islands. The Fortress towered over the forests of High Ward (before they were cut down to make way for farms) and housed a thousand permanent troops. Barvolte was used as a mustering point for many expeditions against the Sourians.
During the Calatasshone Civil War, Barvolte sided with the Calatasshone Trading Company. The Fortress of Barvolte was used as a gunpowder arsenal for the warships of the CTC.
Trade & Transport
Barvolte was home to the famous Repuvian Mattiers tailor shop. Repuvian Mattiers imported large quantities of materials to Barvolte and had customers all across Calatasshone, many of whom would travel to Barvolte for fittings. After the company reformed into the Repuvian Mattiers Company in 812 PT, Barvolte became the centre of a rapidly growing fashion industry, as the colony's sub-colonies on Gartoflet and beyond became important sites of manufacture and processing.
