Tutarianism
The Tutarians believe in two groups of gods, the newer Ansuz and the older Waniz. These gods and other creatures live in the nine known worlds and the tenth and beyond, held in place by Iggwadraƀilaz, the great ash tree.
The Ansuz: Sky, War and Artifice
The Ansuz are Eldrian gods adopted by the Tutarians, their worship spreading through the lands at the hands of the Dromarian refugees, traders from the Spinner sea and the nomadic horseriding warriors of the Gorshad. Thought to dwell in the heavenly domain of Ansugardijaz, the Ansuz are led by Wothanaz, the Allfather, reigns supreme, eternally seeking wisdom. His son, Thunraz, wields maylina, a hammer of unparalleled power, protecting the realms from threats both terrestrial and cosmic. Within the realm of the Ansuz, the powers of nature and creation are bent to the will of great heroes who chain the great wolf Fenrir to prevent the coming of Ragnarok. The Waniz: Earth, Bounty and Spirit
The Waniz are thought to reside in Wanahaimaz, ruling over nature and its cycles.. Nerthuz presides over the sea and winds, while his children, Frōjar and Frēyjô, oversee matters of fertility and emotional realms. Under this older belief, It is said the Waniz were born like the fruits of a great tree, given thought and feeling by a great and primeval god of nature. In the realm of Wanahaimaz, the spirits of neighbor reign supreme. The great bear, the eagle, the wolf and the serpent are powerful spirits of nature, wild and untamed. The Tenth World and Beyond
In Ansugardijaz, the pantheon extends beyond the new and old gods gods and may include entities that lurk in the darkest corners of Iggwadraƀilaz, the World Tree. Such gods are considered dangerous and forbidden, usually invoked through Seithaz, and often by the Volur.Sacred Practices of Bloda and Sumla
Ritual sacrifices, known as Bloda, are performed in sacred groves and temples. In this world where gods can be physically present at rituals, Bloda serves as an occasion for direct communion with the divine. Sumla is a ritualistic drinking ceremony, often following a Bloda, serving as a form of oath-making and bonding. The Runebinding
The Tutarians believe that individual letters or 'runes' are associated with gods and other powerful forces. These runes on their own are considered powerful magical forces which can be invoked by writers and readers, inscribed onto objects or written in the air. While the practice of Runebinding is older than the written word and once relied on symbology, the marks havce long since merged with the alphabet of the Tutarians.Seithaz and Volur
While the Ansuz and Waniz provide the realms with magical support, there exists a more dangerous and stigmatized form of magic known as Seithaz which belongs to women. Practitioners called Volur seek the power of The Three, manipulate reality and sundering fate through worship of other, darker forces of destiny. While it is socially forbidden for men to be Volur and for women to access certain divine and arcane magic, there are those who denounce gender completely or naturally exist in an intermediate state, taking on the qualities of a woman to perform Volur magic or vice versa.
