Scab (Skab)
Biome: Tangle, Dome, Seep
Archaea: 37th
Ruins: Dimeshar ruins from the Age of Raining Arrows, Carcosan ruins of the Iberam sewers
Time: Age of Long Shadows
Above: Orokstraja
Below: Malkivarium
Adjacent: Lolan, Bokal'mal, Dimeshar, Gorelan
Once the eastern bounds of the ancient ruins of the Dimeshar culture and sometimes accessed by way of the Stinging Sorrow, Scab sits in the underworld region now known as Hranich Naikon deep within the 37th Archaea. The current settlement of Scab was populated by Dwereg Black Guards who survived a desperate traversal of the Malkivarium during The Fall, but its population now numbers in the thousands, augmented by other survivors of the Malkivar or by prospectors drawn by the rare resources which can only be created and worked near emanations of the maze below. Much of Scab's ongoings revolve around gathering and forging such materials into potent weapons feared throughout the bastions using the ancient forges of the long lost Dimesharians. In the intervening hundreds of years, the ruins now called Scab have become a gathering place for a number of other subterranean races despite the lingering threat of the Malkivarium. Many make a living sifting through the dozen parasangs of crumbing and overgrown Dimesharian ruins, bartering food and materials with the local smiths. Some within Scabora even scavenge the Maze itself for, having learned to navigate through special means. Two Sanghan ago, the Dimeshar ruins of Hranich Nakon were plumbed through by workers expanding the sewers of Iberam, creating many openings that pass through Hranichnikon. Known as the Orokstraja, these twisting, tangled messes are intact in some places and broken in others, creating rivers and lakes fed by Iberamjezar and other water sources with the Malkivarium below. While the residents of Hranichnikon generally fill these holes in when they find them, they remain an ever-present threat throughout the ruins, pocking it with entrances and exits to adjacent Archaeas.
