Session 009 - The Lost Soul: Part I

General Summary

As the heroes began the battle with Morgantha, Offalia, and Bella their allies arrived at the Old Bonegrinder. Fiona Wachter with her The Cult of Ezra set up on the boundaries and cast a spell that would stop anyone from planeshifting, while Victor Vallakovich hid nearby ready to counter any magic from the hags.   As the battle went on, the heroes began to be dragged into the Old Bonegrinder by magic caused by the hags. When Magnus Frostbane was offered a bargin by Morgantha he responded with an eldritch blast. It soon became clear, as each were falling, that the heroes would not be successful, Fiona Wachter dropped her barrier magic to save them. Unfortunately this allowed Morgantha and her daughters fled.   It was at this moment at a green light pierced through the mists of Barovia and Madame Brunehilde Mirehook suddenly appeared before Selkis Netah. She asked for the Death House Amber Shard which Selkis relinquished, and Madame Brunehilde Mirehook healed all of party. The heroes watched as Brunehilde absorbed the power of the amber shard into her body, causing her veins to turn gold. She then teleported away laughing, leaving behind a hag's heartstone as a gift.   Confused on what had occured, but concious of the missing children and the time left for Stella Wachter, the heroes quickly cleared out the Old Bonegrinder and found the two missing Barovian children. With the help of Victor Vallakovich, @fionaand the The Cult of Ezra the heroes were able to use the hag's hearstone to planeshift into the Ethereal Plane. After acclimating to the mists, seeing a mouse paladin walking in the distance, the heroes notice that a humanoid wearing black armour was holding Stella's spirit. This humanoid removed his helmet and Ava Reigh immediately attacked recognising her father, Hahr Reigh.
