Pickett Bell

Proprietor of Miner's Friend   Pickett Bell is friendly, but with an underlying stubbornness that also pushes him into the hidebound territory. He's a great salesman and a hard worker, and expects those around him to be the same. He's old fashioned about a lot of things- mining being one of them. He doesn't like the fact that machines are pushing people out- not the least because its hurting business. He's known to be at odds with Hunter Cross, and has had more than one public shouting match with the other man. He accepts the necessity of some technology, but tends to hold onto his sleeves for longer than a person of his stature should have to, and his replacements are always somewhat vanilla, with only things absolutely necessary for him to function in his role.   Physically, Bell is in good shape. He is tall with olive skin, brown hair and green eyes. His current sleeve has a prosthetic eye with a long scar over it; he lost his own in an accident. He's currently single- he doesn't talk of his wife, though there are signs that there was at one time a Mrs. Bell.   His business is run tightly, and he stocks a lot of things to help Miners do their own work, and is frequented a lot by workers that have aspirations other than being company men.
