Wanyun of Bailan

The Wanyun of Bailan, which began its existance as a principality and ended as one as well, was a state which existed following the destruction of the Land of Silvetine. Following the destruction of that state at the hands of the Wanyun of Auwaejo, Bailan was formed on the elven-majority lands, while the dwarven-ruled Principality of Chwan Yun was formed on the more mixed southern region. The assimilation of Bailan to the regional humans can already be noted, as Silvetine was a traditional elvish name, while Bailan already shows Jungyu influence. After its formation, Bailan fought a ceasless war to destroy the invaders of Auwaejo, eventually succeeding by 50 BC, when it swept across Chwan Yun as well. The Wanyun of Bailan, however, did not last long. It was pressed on all fronts by the remnants of Auwaejo as well as the western nations of the future Wanyun of Saewan (though at this point it was just a glorified city state) and the Kingdom of Bakatyeong. Additionally, Chwan Yun was not entirely pacified, and was rebellious. Thus, in 27 SC, Bailan fell, and would remain nonexistant for over 50 years before being re-established in 83 SC after Saewan topped the Wanyun of Karaito. Bailan remained an independent principality for a number of years, with this second shot at a state covering many more years than their previous existence. In 525 SC, however, Bailan voluntarily joined the new Wanyun of Suiquae, which pciked up the fallen pieces of the Wanyun of Saewan. This was the end of Bailan's independence, and the land was slowly split up between its various families over the years as the Cheonyeo became more decentralized.
