Vaßßiu Pāmp-rānißß

Vaßßiu Pāmp-rānißß, meaning "Worship of the Snake Queen" is the dominant Naga religion.
The religion focuses on several key tenants.
1. Women are superior to men
2. Strength, faith, and prestige should be pursued above all else
3. Sacrifices to the Snake Queen must be performed on certain days
4. Ritual consumption of sentient flesh is imperative for proper worship of the Snake Queen. Flesh consumption should be proportional to the importance of the follower's position. Hence, the lowly male should only eat flesh once a year while the highest of priestesses should consume it daily.
Followers of the Vaßßiu Pāmp-rānißß believe that snakes are the true gods of the world, and that Nagas were created to bridge the gap between snakes and sentient life. Sacrifices are used to give strength to the rituals of Vaßßiu Pāmp-rānißß, though the sacrifices are never Nagas. It is said that the sacrifices are to please and strengthen the snake gods who will therefore strengthen the Naga in turn. The highest and most revered of these gods is the snake goddess Vrangare who is said to have cast down the previous male-dominated system of worship. Vrangare was once a lesser goddess, the goddess of snakes, and was violated by a more powerful god, in just one example of the debaunchery and cruelty that males display if they get the upper hand. Vrangare, furious, tore down the hierarchy, killing many of the other gods (mostly males) who refused to bend. Using the powers she gained from the slain gods, she transformed the pantheon into snake goddesses similar to her. Pāmp-rānißßians believe that her mortal followers were blessed by being transformed into Nagas as a sign of her favor. They established a hierarchy of strength, dominating the males much as their goddess had. Pāmp-rānißßians believe that at the end of the world she will give birth to a serpent who will swallow the world. Following this, the snake will begin eating its own tail, forming an Ouroboros. Pāmp-rānißßians believe that their sacrifices keep her fed and able to avoid giving birth to the Ouroboros.
