Titans

Titans are a primordial race of giants which stood at almost 60-70 meters tall and ruled much of the north many thousands of years ago. The primordial titans were some of the most powerful creatures to ever exist, having extremely long lifespans and being nigh-invulnerable to damage. However, because of their immense size they had a number of issues with obtaining food, shelter, other resources, and even with reproduction. This meant that the number of Titans was always rather small. Titans never had a central society, as settlements consumed resources much too quickly, so most were nomaidic wanderers, since agriculture had yet to be properly developed. As titans hunted, they often targeted large creatures such as sea serpents, rocs, greater drakons, and even dragons. This drew the ire of the dragons, who decided that something must be done. A thousand years of war followed, with both sides comitting unending atrocities. However, the titans were outmatched. While surprising and killing a single dragon was not beyond their abilties, being swarmed by multiple dragons or being challenged by the eldest dragons in the realm was too much. In the end, the titans were pushed back to Voltheim, where their last surviving members remained. There, they held out for some time and caused huge causalties to the Frost Dragons in particular, but eventually they began to run out of food and supplies. The titans, knowing that they were doomed, decided to mount one last charge, determined to cause irreperable damage to the dragons before their inevitable extinction. The battle raged for days, the remaining Titans being the most powerful and experienced and the dragons not really willing to risk their lives for a war that was soon to end. And end it would, in a cloud of smoke the last of the titans fell on top of the massive pile of bodies. As the smoke cleared, all that could be heard was weeping, and one titan walked out. The dragons, fearing that this was a mighty warrior and knowing that the titan race was for all intents and purposes extinct, left the weeping titan. And so begun the legend of Vol, Last Of The Titans.
