The Soulless Sovereign

The man who will be known as, The Soulless Sovereign, last of King of Ilmoric, and the Cursed King, was born to the royal family of Ilmoric during a time of great unrest within the kingdom. Him and his family were held hostage by a rebel group lead by Lord Ithmial, who was once loyal to the royal family and was one of their top generals, but had decided to try and take control of the throne for himself. The Soulless Sovereign was held captive for five years, until some of the royal knights had stormed the castle and rescued him, unfortunately the rest of the royal family was killed during the rescue. Lord Ithmial was captured and imprisoned during this attempt. The Curse King is believed to become the ruler of the kingdom around the year 1900 and was almost immediately forced to make peace with the several rebel groups that plagued the realm, in doing so he gave up most of his powers as king and became a symbolic figure head of the kingdom. This drove him to anger and resentment for the people. He would secretly plot with bandits to raid farms and towns to weaken the new governmental body, but unfortunately they would quickly deal with the bandits and make them look like heroes. So as a last resort he turn to a book that his family kept locked away, this book was the Ars Usymra. He used the book to gain power and was able to summon the devil known as Maltorem. Maltorem told the King that if he sold his soul to him that he would bring about suffering and pain to all that had wronged him. After the king pondered for awhile he agreed to the devils terms and gained the ability to use curses and control cursed beings, but also laying a curse upon himself, the curse of Undead. Later the devil opened a gate way to his realm and allowed his generals along with their armies to come through and destroy anything that was in their path. Later on the Soulless Sovereign, after losing his sanity, he decided that none will be able to leave his kingdom, not even the demons, and so he laid curse that would not allow any of his subjects to leave his domain of control. He also laid a curse on nobles and generals that had wronged him making them his puppet and making them suffer. He would later help Dark Knight Gabriel destroy the portal that was bringing the demons. He told Gabriel to use his powers that he gained from the god of righteous vengeance to seal the portal and to lock the gateway so that it could never be used again. After the battle he found Gabriel weakened and took the opportunity to lay a curse on him and entomb him so he could use the dark knight for his amusement.
