The Øldar Lineage
After establishing the country of Frostreach, Øldar married his long time love interest, a woman named Elenaril Carlois. The two had known each other from around the time Øldar was promoted to general in the Centaur military, and she had fought alongside him in the War on Clesentia.
Before Frostreach was founded, Konigjarl Øldar and Queen Elenaril had children, the oldest of whom was Harig Karlus. Harig would go on to have two children of his own, a male whom they named Þaru, and a female named Haffi. Despite being nobles, these twins were trained from an early age in the art of combat, so that they would also lead the future of Frostreach to victory and fortune.
When it came time for Øldar to step down from his position of Konigjarls, since Harig had already died, he decreed that the next monarch of Frostreach would be chosen through trial by combat. Øldar decided that he would not decide succession because one twin was born slightly earlier than the other, and wanted Frsotreach to be ruled by whoever was the most capable. He gave Þaru and Haffi one week to prepare themselves to fight the other into submission in the ring of honor. The victor of this bout would be declared monarch, and the loser appointed general in the military.
Þaru and Haffi battled until both could not stand, and it was declared a draw, and the title of Konigjarls was presented to both of them after they rested. While both of them sat on the seat of power, their relationship remained non-sexual, they had their own families and when it would come time to determine a new Konigjarls, the eldest of the children of Þaru and Haffi would fight. Jord, son of Þaru and, Harig, son of Haffi entered the ring. Harig (who was named after his grandfather Harig) fought valiantly, but was subdued because Jord had applied a nonlethal poison to his weapon, as it was forbidden to kill the opponent in this sacred bout. Upon killing the combatant, the second eldest of the combatants siblings would be crowned. Harig was then appointed as a General and Jarl of Måtstad, a wealthy logging and fishing town. Jord was crowned Konigjarls, as his act of cheating wasn't discovered. His bloodline would then slowly lead Frostreach into ruin, with high inflation and loss of land.
Harig would settle down and start a family. Despite the countries hardships, Måtstad would remain mostly stable, as food and resources weren't scarce. However, it would eventually be taken over by cronies of the Jord line, and the Harig line fell on hard times.
