Terraderm

Terraderm are an oceanic race which have bony-plated heads and strong jaws. The Terraderm have stocky arms with fins on them to assist in swimming. Both their arms and legs are webbed, and their toes are more like claws than nails. Terraderm have very stocky builds and therefore have very little neck, with their head sloping down to their shoulders. Terraderm gills are just below their jaw, and are probably the most vulnerable point on their otherwise heavily armored head and shoulders. Terraderm also have large dorsal fins quite far down their backs, which assists with swimming stability as well as in sharp turns.
Terraderm are some of the most successful hunters out of any sentient race. Their tremendously powerful tail and finned arms allow them to move at swift speeds as an ambush predator. Though they cannot keep the speed up for long, Terraderm make the most of their short bursts to chomp their jaws at hyper-speed, creating a vortex of water which catches prey off guard and delays their flight. They continue chomping until their razor-sharp bone teeth slice their prey to death, before snatching and eating the remains. Terraderm excel at using this strategy in battle as well. The Terraderm diet is quite mixed, as they ambush and kill anything from smaller nautilus to massive fish and whales. Because the Terraderm average 7 feet tall, and 8.5 from head to the tip of their tail, multiple Terraderm are required to take on most whales, but the prize is a meal for weeks. Terraderm live in the tropical region between Yehv and Namarin.
