Spirisic

The Spirisic are a short but stocky New World Race. Spirisic only stand 3-4 feet tall, but weigh more than a dwarf. At least part of this large weight is because of two distinctive features. Spirisic have fingernails, toenails, and faces that are made of extremely tough iron-dense keratin, and this iron content is also present in their skin, giving it an orangish-brown tint. Spirisic make use of an extremely complex caste system that is entirely based on a Spirisic's facial shape and color. Spirisic's keratin faces range from cyan to purple, and with this unique biology, there are over 16,000 different combinations, and each of these has a unique place in the caste system.
Spirisic love to attach different objects to their faces based on their life achievements, known as scupinings. Because their faces are keratin, this causes no harm to the Spirisic. If these scupinings are removed, the face will slowly reform and there will be no scarring or trace of the scupining that was affixed in the location. Thus, a common punishment for criminals is to strip them of there scupinings, clearly marking them as failures with no notable achievements. Many Spirisic therefore distrust other races which have smooth skin and no facial markings, however they react favorably to obvious displays of wealth in other ways, seeing this as proof of the power of that race.
