Orb of Xialon

The Orb of Xialon a mystical orb which is approximately the size of a grapefruit. It is covered in runes and arcane symbols, as well as a number of crevasses. The only other place runes such as these have been seen are Divine Libraries, which makes them impossible to translate, and therefore nobody knows what exactly the purpose of the runes is. It has been theorized that these runes place some sort of regulation on the orb, as the orb occasionally flares in power, with the symbols lighting up briefly before this power surge ends. It also occasionally fades in power before the runes glow again, then the power begins to grow again. After close study, the orb was found to be crafted of an unknown metal which could only be compared to Mithril or Vayridium in its durability. The orb itself cannot be controlled, as it is a self-contained power source. It both emits its own energy as well as controls the flow of this energy as it spread out through the city.

The orb sits at the center of a pod that is constructed from magically imbued metals (though these, unlike the orb's material, have been constructed from metals known to mortals) and glass. This pod is also covered in magical runes of the type found elsewhere on Xialon, and these runes place additional protection and regulation onto the orb. Due to the immense power of the orb as well as the chamber having no entrances, it has never been approached. This whole contraption sits within the "control room" which contains four stone carvings of a hooded man handing the orb itself to the Founder, with smaller figures within these carvings seeming to represent the other important figures to the city.
