Marids

Out of all the genies, the Marids are the laziest and least interested in the outside world. Unlike Djinn who would feel sympathy for the plight of their kind if captured and the Ifrits who would kill the captor's whole family, Marids find it funny when other Marids get captured. they do not care much for great schemes and conquest, only really fighting defensively against the Ifrits. Though they, like the Ifirits, view other beings as lesser, Marids are far more likely to ignore such lesser beings than to attempt to enslave them as the Ifrit do. Pretty much the only way to get Marids to do anything at all is when its in their own self-interest or if they are promised tribute or great riches in exchange. Marids typically live in underground desert aquifers, and their palaces are modest, but always kept with Djinn slaves so that their masters do not have to do work (since work is beneath Marids, in their opinion).
