Hematyeong

Living in and around the Bakatyeong and Junyeong regions as well as the Northern Pass, they were cut off from the rest of the Hobgoblins by the Centaur advance, although they are once more in contact with their fellows due to the expansion of the Algyaldan. The Hematyeong are a fairly homogenous group due to their initially small numbers, which fled south instead of east, passing through the modern Dwarven Road. The dwarves of the region supported such migration as a way to populate the surface region of the pass, increasing their control over the region. With dwarven support, the tribes that would become the Hematyeong were able to prevent centaurs from gaining control of the pass and harming the dwarven states in the region. For many years, the Hematyeong tribes lived exclusively within the pass, but around the time of the Izobhüdiye reformation in their northern fellows many of their number began to migrate further south into Bakatyeong and Yunyeong. They had been invited by the ruling Wanyun at the time in order to serve as an auxiliary force in wars, as the Hobgoblins were seen as capable, though savage, fighters. Over time, these settlers formed communities on the grasslands just across the river from the capital region, where they became valued soldiers. In time, the Hematyeong settlers in the region became the main settlement of Hematyeong, though there are scattered populations elsewhere in the domain of the various successive Wanyun.
