Ents

Ents are ancient guardians of the forest who were born from the world itself when it was young. As natural beings formed from the concentration of divine magic and the perfection, they are known to have a strong connection with Dryads. While dryads were more powerful in magic, the ents were physically stronger and had the ability to commune with trees on a depper level than dryads. The two races worked together for centuries when the realm was new, but since ents were tied to the realm they did not work with the dryads in the Realm War. They did, however, team up with the dryads to fight the devils and demons, acting mostly as shock troops due to their low number. During this war, a few were corrupted by the devils and turned into Malicients, even fewer of these survived the war. But in some dark forest valleys these Malicients hold sway. Hostile towards all life except Devils (who they are friendly towards) those who enter such forests do not return. The wood of these forests is markdly evil and grows dark and twisted, making for poor firewood which emits thick black smoke to boot. Such forests creep forward with hatred for life, all directed by a Malicient. But even the malicients are fading, much like other ents. With magic levels no longer as high as they once were, ents can no longer be born, making their number finite. Their will to do much has faded with magic, and most ents no longer do much more than sleep and dream (malicient dreams should not be discussed). Only a few ents who remain close to the last few dryad communities have remained more or less sound, as the magic in these locations is higher than almost anywhere else in the eighth realm. Due to their immortality, they serve as teachers, advisors, and guardians of some of the remaining dryad communities. Ents are immune to Feykin, but they cannot purify them either, so their help is limited.
Ents are able to use their connection with trees to help forests grow strong and green, but they are also very protective of them. Cutting trees in these forests is a good way to incite their wrath, and their forests do not feel suitable for animals, just plants. Some would consider this bad, but it should also be remembered that ents don't seek to expand such forests, only to protect the trees there. Ents do not do this in a coordinated manner, and they do not have any civilization. Ents meet only rarely, but when they do they commune with one another for days at a time, each drinking up the other's knowledge.
