Aeroplankton
Aeroplankton are a collection of several species of plankton which exist in the upper atmosphere (usually above cloud height). There, they are able to absorb sunlight efficiently, as well as make use of special magical receptors with which they can stay afloat. Aeroplankton are the basis for the entire Aeroecosystem, as they are the only species of plant which can both survive in the thin airs of the upper atmosphere as well as actually float there. Aeroplankton themselves are immobile, and move entirely through wind currents- this means they are often concentrated in certain parts of the world.
