The Unbecoming
The Unbecoming, also referred to as the Endless One, the Great Being, and (through a mistranslation from Old Syollan) the Unbeing, was the eighth Elphedver and the last to join their ranks. In visions it appears as a great black storm cloud with green or sometimes purple lightning. It was a creature of pure being and existence that could not and did not experience change, intended to preside over Syoll and maintain the balance of existence. However, the Unbecoming betrayed the rest of the pantheon, claiming power and locking the world into an eternal state of stagnant existence.
With the combined efforts of the other seven Elphedver as well as armies of Elphead a revolution was fought against the Unbecoming. While killing it was not possible, the combined power of Elphedver and Elphead could trap the Unbecoming in a suspended prison plane held in the middle of eight Outer Planes. The story of this uprising, in particular the efforts of the champions that wielded the Elphead Relics, was recorded in the Vision Stone of the Rebellion.
During its imprisonment, the Unending managed to whisper through a crack in its prison and twist the young and hopeful Phexdis to become greedy and corrupt. Even with her near falling into forgetfulness it has remained adamant in its corruption, unaffected by the time that has passed.
