Phexdis
Phexdis (a.k.a. The Forsaken)
Phexdis was once the goddess of fire, being honoured mostly by those who would take up arms in the War of Frost or those who lived in Amridge or the Winterlands before and after the war. However, only half a century after the victory against the Frost Forces, she was consumed by the great increase of power she had seen. Phexdis became obsessed with domination and eventually destruction, which corrupted not only herself, but her followers as well. This turning point was dubbed “The Corruption of Phexdis”. After the end of the War of Flames (a conflict against the corrupted followers of Phexdis), she was entirely removed from the people's lives. Her temples were destroyed, any symbolism removed and the few followers who remained unaffected renounced her.
While she was known as a strong goddess, who would be stern but loving, her corruption turned her into a ravenous and merciless being, her domains becoming no longer simply fire, but instead the greed with which fire destroys and consumes. Rarely details can be found regarding worship of Phexdis before the War of Frost, since most of these were destroyed or forgotten.
The last known holy symbol of Phexdis was a flaming hand, most often seen on a dark background. She is also closely connected to the colour combination of black and deep red.
The beliefs of her followers prior to her removal from the Syolladver pantheon remains largely unknown, since most records have been erased. It is assumed that she stood for strength in war or acted as some sort of beacon for the people, but even any speculation is avoided by the few initiated.
