Garvelment
"May one day my thirst be slaked." -Inscription on Garvelment's hilt
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Garvelment is murder made manifest, driven by the will of its wielder and the consciousness within it. As such, its form is not solid. It mutates and changes with the will of the wielder, based on desire and need, from a mace to a spear to an axe. Garvelment is always able to be recognized with the flower patterns etched throughout the weapon, and the inscription on the hilt.
History
Garvelment was sung into creation by the First Murderer, and used to kill Esteele. Throughout the Celestial War, Garvelment saw much bloodshed. It was first used by The First Murderer, then it was used by Aventus after The Favored Son's death. When Aventus was sealed, Soluhn and the Choir of Celestial Bodies shattered the blade, and spread its pieces throughout the earth where they could assign other choirs or mortal guardians to it.
Garvelment bears a semblance of consciousness and can drive this consciousness into the minds of its wielders and bend them to Its will. Usually, this is done to spill more blood and drive its wielder into frenzy, as when Aventus slaughtered The Choir of Web Watchers, though it has on occasion driven its wielder to stop shedding blood and killing. A particularly strong-willed wielder is able to defy the blade's wishes.
