White Watch Twin Castles

The White Watch Twin Castles on the continent of Idalka stand on the White River where Hendrakin Land in the south borders Corannin Land in the north and not far from the Idalka Mountains. They are a relic from an age when the countries faced off against one another and the construction of the castles on opposite shores of the river was as much for show as it was for any real strategic reason.   Neither country could really sustain the economic effort to support these grand fortresses pretty much in the middle of nowhere and Corannin Land was particularly impoverished by the effort. It was a relief to both sides when wiser rulers cancelled further building, leaving much of both structures incomplete.   Now the castles are sparsely manned and seldom visited. Both countries have found other things to do.
