Originally founded as a modest inter-system courier service, ValeCore experienced moderate success in its earlier years of operation. Though they primarily only shuttled small cargo, and some people moving across a relatively short stretch of space in central Delta Space. ValeCore was by no means struggling, but they weren’t anywhere close to their eventual highs.
Then Rikter S. Parnasus rose to lead the company. Parnassus was a man bereft of emotion and social subtlety, but he was a man of genius and often brutal workflow efficiency methods. Through astute business acumen and strategic maneuvers, Parnassus transformed the company, orchestrating a series of mergers and acquisitions that led to its ascension as the Delta Space’s first acknowledged MegaCorpo.
ValeCore, at this period, nearly a thousand years ago, represented the pinnacle of what a corporation could accomplish. They stretched their network to the far reaches of then Delta Space, reaching into even the borders of known space in O.Sec F. They had even managed mutual trade deals with both the Imperials and the Lupine, two civilizations that absolutely abhor each other and often, both then and now, refuse to work with companies associated with the other.
This period marked ValeCore's peak, establishing it as a dominant force in freight and transit.
However, after Rikter's death, ValeCore gradually declined, its influence waning until it became a mere shadow of its former self. For centuries, it operated as little more than an independent postal service near the Imperial and Variance border, a stark contrast to its once-grand stature.
The company that was once deemed the first MegaCorpo limped on for centuries; at some points, they operated so infrequently that it was as if they had shuttered their proverbial doors. Despite this, they carried on, belaboured and weakened, a shadow of their former selves.
In recent years, the company has attempted a bit of a comeback, purchasing a small fleet of freight ships and renting out usage of travel lanes that were owned and operated by other larger shipping companies. The company doing so had put itself into deep debt, though the risky move put them back on the radar of many who had assumed they had ceased to exist long ago. These moves would eventually put them in a position to make some transportation deals and slowly begin a new ascent to the top.
This slow ascent would culminate in an important return, one that would signify the company's fortunes had reversed. The emergence and hiring of Lachra Parnasus, a descendant of Rikter S. Parnasus. Under Lachra's leadership, ValeCore is being revitalized, both in business acumen and in spirit.
Lachra embodies the spirit and approach of her long-departed ancestor. Implementing his ruthless business efficiencies in modern times, with Rikter’s The Workplace Efficiency Guide becoming gospel for the revitalized MegaCorpo, and a required read for all employees, both new and old.
Once again, ValeCore is on a trajectory to become a significant power in the Delta Space’s transportation economy. Some even believe they may be the next superpower in the MegaCorpo space. There are even rumours that the Corporate Guidance Reformation is considering bringing them into the fold.
ValeCore Freight and Transit Authority, a company that was once massive and powerful thanks to Rikter S. Parnasus, but stumbled and drifted into near obscurity only a few decades after his death. Now, nearly a thousand years later, the bones of the once mighty freight and shipping company have been revived thanks in part to the canny leadership of Rikter’s descendant Lachra Parnasus.
This is not the only reason for their return to success; it is also thanks to the adoption of the Hyper-Gravitational Transponder and Intra-Lane Transposition Nodes System. It is theorized that ValeCore was gifted this technology by the Hivemind Sentius Network. But for what purposes remains unknown, as the Hivemind does nothing without purpose. Both ValeCore and the Hivemind are remaining silent about whatever agreement they’ve struck.
The return of a Parnasus in charge is not the only reason for the company's return to success. Though it is thanks to Lachra that this particular business opportunity arose.
ValeCore very recently adopted a new and potentially revolutionary transportation technology called the Hyper-Gravitational Transponder and Intra-Lane Transposition Nodes System. A system that allows for much faster interstellar travel. In short, the system uses two co-functioning systems.
The Hyper-Gravitational Transponder, often called a Stone, is affixed to a space-faring vehicle, and a series of Intra-Lane Transposition Nodes, often called Skips. The Stone, when it arrives from hyper-space travel via an Improbable Distance Drive, uses the remaining energy to latch on to a nearby Skip, which flings them off towards the next Skip, and then the next and so on until the Stone arrives at the nearest Skip to its final destination.
It is theorized that ValeCore was “gifted” this technology by the Hivemind Sentius Network. But for what purposes remains unknown, as the Hivemind does nothing without purpose. Both ValeCore and the Hivemind are remaining silent about whatever agreement they’ve struck.
