Rikter S. Parnasus

Who was Rikter S. Parnasus?

Rikter S. Parnasus was a corporate visionary who laid the groundwork for what would become the modern-day MegaCorpo and created the blueprint of what a modern corporate leader (CEO, CFO, etc.) looks like. And while he was viewed as greedy and ruthless by his peers, now and then, his approach to business could not be denied as anything but brilliant.   Parnasus was an entrepreneur, entering into the world of corporate business at a young age thanks to a well-timed, largely elaborated application to one of the first interstellar shipping companies in the Delta Space. Parnasus, who did not have any sort of post-secondary education, exaggerated his experience and education on his resume. Despite this, and despite his rather dry and humourless personality, he was eventually hired for a job in packaging. The job was simple; he stood in a crowd amongst others and packaged various items into boxes for shipment.   Within a few short weeks, Parnassus, completely unprompted, had drafted a several-page document on workflow inefficiencies and how to improve efficiency within the packaging department. He delivered this report to his department head, who, once they had gotten over the audacity of the young man, reviewed the document and realized its legitimacy and simple brilliance.   Parnasus’s plan was applied to the department, and it quickly improved the workload output of the team. Though the team itself were non too pleased as it greatly increased the pressures laid upon them. Parnasus, thanks to his efforts, was quickly raised in rank and began working alongside department leaders to help increase efficiencies in the department, and eventually in the company as a whole.   And this is how the rest of Parnassus’s corporate worklife would unfold. He would enter a company, review their workplace inefficiencies and then would, often ruthlessly without concern for the workforce, develop an ironclad workplace efficiency report and plan that would revamp approaches to work and increase effectiveness tenfold or more.   After years of work, Parnasus would find himself at the top of a conglomerate of interstellar shipping companies. Through tireless work and through a variety of dealings, he would end his career as the chief operating officer and head stakeholder of a merger between these companies that formed what many believe was the first true MegaCorpo in the Delta Space.

Legacy and The Workplace Efficiency Guide

Obsessed with optimization and workflow efficiency, Parnassus could squeeze every ounce of effectiveness out of each of his employees and discard them when they became exhausted, burnt out, or a liability.   He was completely removed from the personal and viewed his business in terms of workplace proficiency; if something or something were to become ineffective, it would be removed. Like a cancerous tumour being cut out before it can kill the rest of the body's system. In time, this ruthless approach inspired others, and his ways were adopted more and more as time went on.   All of his teachings, including his methodology, business approach, and even some of his work and life philosophy, were archived and published with The Workplace Efficiency Guide. A popular guide that has been sold throughout the Delta Space since before Parnassus died of old age.   Now, Rikter S. Parnasus’s legacy has long endured, and while he has long passed on a thousand years since, his workplace efficiency methods, detailed in The Workplace Efficiency Guide, have created the blueprint which is followed by any would-be leader or MegaCorpo seeking success. And to organizations like the secretive Corporate Guidance Reformation, he is considered a pariah, and the group staunchly follow his wisdom without fail.
Summary
Rikter S. Parnasus was a corporate visionary who laid the groundwork for the modern MegaCorpo and defined the role of a corporate leader. Despite his ruthlessness, his business acumen was undeniable.   Parnasus was obsessed with optimization, treating his business and employees with a detached focus on proficiency, discarding anything or anyone deemed ineffective. His methods, documented in The Workplace Efficiency Guide, have had a lasting legacy, serving as a blueprint for ambitious leaders and MegaCorpos, and are staunchly followed by groups like the Corporate Guidance Reformation.   His career culminated in him becoming the chief operating officer and head stakeholder of a merger that formed one of the first true MegaCorpos in the Delta Space. This company eventually became Valecore Freight and Transit Authority.
Progeny and Celebrated Ancestor
Parnasus’s first and only true love was his work, a point that would stain his relationship with his significant other. And while that relationship would end in acrimony and divorce, it did, however, leave one progeny, a son and heir to the Parnassus bloodline.   Being the son of a ruthless businessman would not be one of love and paternal teaching. In fact, Parnasus and his son would quickly drift apart and become estranged after the divorce. It was only by happenstance that generations later, the descendants of Parnasus and his son would entwine once again.   Lachra Parnasus, who chose to retake her ancestors' last name, was hired by Valecore Freight and Transit Authority. This company is the ancestral firm of the transit conglomerate established by Rikter S. Parnasus. Lachra quickly rose through the ranks to become the company's COO, a role her ancestor held many generations prior. Her ascendance to the top has been heralded as a spiritual return of Rikter, and as a sign of them entering a new golden age of business efficiency.
