Lavapede
The lavapede is a terrifying lava-spewing monster that lives on Spideyworld. It bursts from the surface of glaciers to ambush prey, first spraying their prey with the napalm that they grow inside their bodies. They then use their powerful jaws to rend their foes piece by piece, consuming all of the remnants after everything has stopped moving. They are famously able to digest just about anything, making them an easy source of trash removal, and also making them difficult to expunge, because they can gain sustenance even from industrial waste product.
Basic Information
Anatomy
The Lavapede is a long, thin, hard-shelled insectoid creature. It has dozens of strong legs with sharp tips, and a hard exoskeleton. It has mandibles at its fore that are capable of pulling apart rocks which it uses to crack open the hard shells of its insectoid prey.
Ecology and Habitats
The Lavapede lives inside of glaciers, where they hunt the few fauna that dare to traverse the surface of the ice. Using their heat-generation abilities, they melt and carve large and complex cave systems that serve as their habitat.
