Immortality

Immortality refers to the transcendence of death through either Athem cultivation or technological ascension. Across all known civilizations, Immortality is seen as the highest form of existence—an escape from the natural cycle of decay and rebirth. However, the nature of Immortality varies depending on the method and stage achieved.

The three stages of Immortality

The Three Stages of Immortality
  1. Echo in the Vessel The first stage is a partial Immortality, achieved when the soul detaches from the decaying body but remains bound to a vessel—whether an artifact, a crystal core, or a digital shell. The being persists in consciousness, but without a physical form, it depends entirely on the stability of its vessel.
“They live in silence, in glass and circuits, their thoughts echoing without end.”
  2. Reincarnation The second stage grants a renewed existence: the soul inhabits a new physical body, either grown, forged, or reconstructed through cultivation or cloning. This form allows continued interaction with the material world but may carry fragments of previous lives—memories, scars, or lingering obsessions.
“Each resurrection leaves a trace; the soul remembers what the flesh forgets.”
  3. Shape of Infinity The third and final stage of Immortality is true indestructibility: the body and soul fuse into a perfect state of existence, immune to decay, destruction, or time itself. Beings at this level are often revered as gods—or feared as eternal tyrants.
“Even time itself must yield before them.”

Juru Myths regarding Immortality

According to Juru mythology, true Immortality cannot be achieved through flesh, soul, or machine, but only through story. To become a part of a story—to be remembered, retold, and reshaped by countless voices—is the truest form of eternal life.
“Those who live in tales never die. Their names echo longer than stars and they are truly free.”
