Kragmarr

A small town built around a nearby iron mine of the same name. It offers few ameneties beyond the mine, a few merchants who trade the comforts of city life to Kragmarr's isolated residents, and a stunning view of the Ironspine mountains.

Government

The property Kragmarr Village is built on belongs to the mining company, and its owner, Galmun Greystone, is the village headman. He shares governance of the village with the local reeve, but it is Greystone who represents the village to higher authorities.

Industry & Trade

Kragmarr mainly exports iron from its eponymous mine. The raw ore is refined in town, and transported by caravan to larger cities.

History

The barren slopes of the Ironspine mountains are an unlikely place for a village, but this one sprung up around the lucrative Kragmarr Iron Mine. At the time, the mine's remote location necessitated a bunkhouse for its workers. Over time, the population attracted some small-time merchants who sold the comforts of more settled areas to the miners. The ameneties gradually increased to the point that some miners brought their families to the growing outpost, and today the village is a small, but comfortable township.

Geography

Built among the Ironspine foothills, Kragmarr's terrain is rough and stony. Most farming attempts are met with frustration, and only the hardiest of vegetables can survive here. Severe local forestry regulations are in place to preserve the slim supply of scraggly pines and other trees which dot the mountainsides. Water comes from a thin stream, flowing through the village before it meets the refinery, after which the water becomes unfit to drink.
