The Reavers are the military and police force of the cities and countryside of the Matron Mysterium. The act under the direction of the High General. Each regiment is led by it's own general or admiral. Many youth desire to join up, with the promise of adventure. The entrance to the Reavers is open to all and candidates are selected each year from around the nation. While the majority of Reavers are male and of human, half-elven and halfling stock, the organization has many exceptions. There is some friction with the Green Knights; while the Reavers are commoners and guards, the knights were formed from the old noble class of the city.
The Reavers are well known for their unarmored "uniform". While going into battle or on specific missions they will wear decorated armor, but otherwise they are often bare chested with belted harnesses, bandoleers and tight leather pants. A product of the old culture of the nation.
Many Reavers find retirement in private security, being bonded to houses of the Verdant Priests. Others find a life of adventure, bounty hunting, or settling on a farm somewhere.
Organized into regiments for the land based forces and fleets on the seafaring operations. There are currently 13 regiments and 5 fleets. They are conscripted from all levels of society and are employed directly under the matron. For the large cities they act as a police force.
The first and second regiments are well known. The 1st is known as the Matermar Sharks and is charges with the defense of the city of
Matermar. The 2nd is known as
The Guilded Dirks and protects the Matron and the palace. Of interest might be the 8th regiment as they are the aquatic regiment known as the Shoal Reavers.
The first fleet is known as the Ocean's Bounty, and acts primarily in escort duties. The rest are tasked on assignment to port cities, trade routes and political maneuvering.

Originally formed of the ships crew under the captainship of the
Ocean's Mystery. When the first mate was able to activate the lenses and became the first matron of the
Matron Mysterium and subsequently was expanded to include the city guard of
Matermar during the fall of the corpulent Grand High Warden Jingan Fortz.
