Open Sky -song

The Winglings subculture has adopted this song as an anthem of what they feel is most important in the world. To them it feels like a goal for what life should be like.
The song discusses the idea of living under and open sky without clouds and terror.
The song was initially crafted as a ballad that had written music for lyrics, stringed instruments, and drums. Many current versions add or replace the strings with flute music, and some replace the drums with a call and response stomping of the audience. The first several verses describe feelings of being trapped in society, trapped by mother nature, and trapped by self limitations. They do this through weather and environmental dangers as a series of metaphors. The chorus and final verses explain how to open up, change your world view and live in the open sky.

Historical Details

History

It was written about twenty years before the The Plague of Silmora, though was not particularly popular at the time. It was written by a dwarven man in Vebra. He was a minor singer/songwriter who according to his own writings was struggling with his agoraphobia (fear of open spaces), and framed the song as his working through these struggles.

Legacy

It has become popular years after the authors death, and for many feels new and fresh. It is now popular throughout the Island Continent of Bellflower, and even as far as Soramizu. Only recently has the world recovered enough for a new version of popular music at world scale to emerge and this song has become an indicator that music is back to being more powerful cultural force across communities.
