High-Jarl

A High-Jarl is the same as calling someone a King. Except that on the lands of Counter-Earth, there can only be one High-Jarl.   Beneath the High-Jarl are village leaders. These are known plainly as Jarls. Jarls are more your town Mayors and Barons of a land.   NOTE: While these are roleplay positions, they are also positions appointed in an out of character manner and are players that help to run the RPG as a whole.

Appointment

The High-Jarl is only appointed by the Priest-Kings, who are the secretive Gods of this planet.

Duties

The High-Jarl is responsible for the upkeep of the lands of Counter-Earth as a whole. His rule is next to none, and rules by decree. Should the High-Jarl not be successful in his tasks, it is said the Priest-Kings will do what was done to the people who resided here previously. Obliterate them all in the blue flame of death, including the High-Jarl himself.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

This position of power and the current High-Jarl cannot be removed from his position without the direct decision of the Priest-Kings, who are the Gods and Deities of this land. Secretive to the peoples and only communicate with the High-Jarl himself.
