Trebai Ascendancy Soldier
Trebai Ascendancy Soldiers were trained warriors who carried out the military operations of the Trebai Ascendancy. They were trained in both melee combat and ranged combat, as well as receiving disciplinary and survival training. Though they acted mainly as an army during the The Twenty-Year War, after the war they were used to control territory and enforce laws, often superseding local police systems.
Career
Qualifications
One had to only meet basic requirements in order to be a soldier of the Trebai Ascendancy, to ensure a large military. Among these qualifications were a minimum age of eighteen for humans, twenty for halflings, and ninety for elves. One had to be in good physical condition and make it through basic training.
Career Progression
Though soldiers could eventually become officers, there was little room for advancement within the ranks available to a soldier.
Payment & Reimbursement
Though not all those who participated in the Twenty-Year War were paid, soldiers specifically of the Trebai Ascendancy were paid a small amount per week for their services.

Demographics
The majority of Trebai Ascendancy soldiers were Trebai humans from the Western Commons and Northern Commons. However, the ranks of this military also included Alois, Eripean, and a number of Rowen halflings and Daphnea elves.
History
During the first years of the Twenty-Year War, the Trebai Ascendancy did not yet exist, and in its place was the decentralized High Kingdom of Beurum. In general, the warriors employed by this government were traditional infantry, called to duty by local lords and not paid for their services. This system was highly disorganized, and resulted in wildly different groups fighting for the same side during the first half of the war. Such chaos jeopardized the High Kingdom's ability to win the war, and as the government was replaced by the Trebai Ascendancy, so too were the armed forces replaced by a single organized military. With this, the Trebai Ascendancy Soldier was born.
Soldiers were given uniform training that proved far more efficient than the old decentralized system, aiding in the Ascendancy's eventual victory in the war. Following the conflict, the size of the military was somewhat reduced, but the government continued to employ many soldiers by using them to expand territory and control subjugated lands. As the soldiers gradually took a more policing role, they began to have a negative reputation in the eyes of many.
Operations
Tools
Equipment during the war was varied due to supply shortages, but most soldiers were issued a pair of combat boots, a gambeson, a thick pair of trousers, a helmet, a spear, a shield with the colors of the Ascendancy, and a shortsword. Some elite groups of soldiers were issued Thunderbird-Class Miniature Cannons later in the war.
Crews operating vehicles such as Fire Wagons were given standard equipment, as well as metal visors, cases of water, more durable helmets, and breathing masks.
Though cavalry was usually restricted to officers, and thus allowed for more personalized equipment, some units of soldiers in the later years of the war were assigned to cavalry regiments. Riders were given chainmail armor and longer spears, as well as decorated helmets.
