Trebai Ascendancy Agent
A Trebai Ascendancy Agent was an individual who carried out special operations for the Trebai Ascendancy. These individuals were trained in matters such as reconnaissance, assassination, and espionage.
Career
Qualifications
Ascendancy agents were required to pass a set of rigorous exams, or, less commonly, were chosen because they had distinguished themselves as members of the Ascendancy military. Either way, all potential agents were required to go through training as well, which included preparation for a variety of different scenarios. In addition to combat training, agents learned languages, history, and skills relating to espionage. They were also held to a higher standard of physical fitness than military recruits.
Perception
History
The end of The Twenty-Year War saw major changes in Beurum, the most prominent of which was the formation of the empire-like Trebai Ascendancy. Having expelled most of the old democratic institutions of the High Kingdom of Beurum, new methods were needed to ensure control over the Ascendancy's subjects.
These new methods often existed beyond the public eye, and thus individuals were needed to carry out certain operations the Ascendancy took interest in. Ascendancy Agents were separate from the state's military forces, though elements of military training often appeared in the Ascendancy program.
Though they made up the majority of their ranks, not all Ascendancy Agents were Trebai. Alois, Daphnea, and other ethnic groups could be found in the organization.
Operations
Tools
Ascendancy agents were given a wide range of varying equipment depending on the task at hand. The most common standard issue gear that was given to agents included a lightweight, dyed-black, reinforced, armored leather uniform, a Vindicator-class Miniature Cannon, and a helmet that contained a darkvisor. In addition, many agents were outfitted with ancient Trebai swords, which were regularly repurposed from the tombs of powerful Trebai warriors.
