Laframbois Family
The Laframbois were a powerful Alois landowning family who operated in the Northern Commons during the Fourth and Fifth Eras.
Historically, the Laframbois had been a dominant family ever since their revered ancestor, Charlode Laframbois, journeyed to the lands of Tritan to participate in the sacking of Kantaran city-states during the start of the Fourth Era. According to the Laframbois, Charlode was a servant of another powerful family there. When the patriarch of their family died in a heated skirmish with Kantaran warriors, Charlode was said to have picked up the man's sword and avenged him. For this deed, they were granted their own lands near the Godscar and the town of Jezebel Ridge. Charlode started their own family, and their descendants eventually built Laframbois Manor. Through a series of deals with the local authorities, illicit methods, and the building of a private army, the Laframbois became one of the most powerful families by the Fifth Era. They were known for shady tactics and forcing smaller landowners out of their property illegally, but the Alois Confederacy either too weak or in cahoots with the family. Several family members were of military age during the Twenty-Year War, but nearly all of them paid impoverished individuals to fight in their place. Following the war, the Laframbois cemented their position as among the most powerful of the Alois, far surpassing any real authority the Trebai Ascendancy held in their section of the Northern Commons. A few years after the war, Nathaniel Alard, a local government official and retired cavalry captain, hired a group of adventurers to find proof of illegal actions by the Laframbois, in an attempt to potentially restore power to impoverished laborers in the area. Under mysterious circumstances, the backbone of the Laframbois family was later destroyed in a fire that consumed their entire manor.

Familial Structure
Unlike other powerful Alois families at the time, the Laframbois did not discriminate when it came to the gender of the familial head. However, similar to other landowning families, the familial head nearly always took multiple spouses.
