Karsaril

Karsaril, sat south of the Delasis Delta, nestled between the coast and the Green Cliffs, surrounded by fertile lands, and lush forests. Like many other cities in de Delasis region, Karsaril was at one point the capital of its own realm, but now it is known as the Shipyard of Tarnen.   Long ago, a ruler founded this city, which he named Karsariel, King's City. Here he built a palace, from which he would rule, but as no king is above the gods, his palace would be overshadowed by the Great Palace of Soldakar.   In the centuries that followed Karsaril would be both subject, and subjugator, but it would always be renowned for its great shipbuilding and navy. The Emperor of Akamta would rely mostly on ships from Karsaril during his invasions of Preica, and when Karsaril was sacked by the Preicans, it took centuries for Akamta to rebuilt its navy to its former glory.   Since its sack, Karsaril has been completely restored, its harbours expanded and shipyards rebuilt. Now the city is graced by a number of marvelous temples and gardens and public spaces.   Now Karsaril is ruled by the Karsa, a vassal king of the Sultan of Tarnen. Karsa Besoukan the Shipwright, a distant cousin of Sultan Dinet, rules the city, and is a skilled shipbuilder and seafarer. During the last war he lead the Tarnish navy and achieved many victories, but the man is old, and has retired to a life on land; his sailing days are over.   Still, under his rule, Karsaril will continue to build ships that are held in high regards, by all across Wordal.
