Ferral

"On the very border of Arnallan, sits the town of Ferral. This place is ruled by count Turnil of Ferenbey, the father-in-law of Deiniol , the Duke of Arnallan. The town if fortified, with the Harrin Run as a defensive barrier to the south. This river marks the border of the Ducky of Arnallan, and Turnil's County of Forn. The rest of the town is surrounded by a moat and ditch. Wooden walls encircle the entire settlement, while the keep, located on an island hill on the northside of the town, is enclosed by a stone wall. The Harrin Run can be crossed by a single bridge, that is protected by two gates, and this bridge is known as the Gate of Forn.
The ruler of the town, Count Turnil is a proud and ambitious noble who carries himself with the confidence of one born to command. Tall and broad-shouldered, with piercing blue eyes and neatly kept light-brown hair, he is as imposing in presence as he is shrewd in politics. Known for his keen insight and military skill, he has long served the Duke with both loyalty and calculated independence. Fiercely protective of his family, especially his daughter, now wed to Deiniol, Ferenbey is an honorable, guided by an unshakable belief in tradition and honor.
A single main road runs through the town, lines with tall buildings and shops. Among these shops is one of the most noteworthy assets of Ferral: Martain's General Store, the small shop owned by Martain the Halfling. He has a wide array of goods, from foreign trinkets to magical items and more. It is said that whatever you need, Martain will be able to get it for you. Just don't ask him where he gets it. Meanwhile, Jonnethan's Oddities is a much more mundane shop where you will, in fact, but nothing odd.
The Bankside tavern offers fine ales and gossip from across the river, while the Meady Maiden Inn is a fine place to rest for the night. It is the last place to rest when you're leaving Arnallan, or the first place if you're just arriving.
Around Ferral are fertile fields, and beyond that rolling hills. It is a stark contrast with the much more rugged and barren cliffs and stoney hill across the Harrin Run, only sparsely populated. An Ferral sits there, ruled by the counts of Form, carefully and proudly watching over the border, making sure that no unwanted visitors sneak into the duchy of its liege lords."
