Emperor

'Emperor' is the title used for the monarch of Solland, as a hold-over from when the kingdom held colonies.

Requirements

Emperor is a hereditary title, following Absolute Cognatic Primogeniture rules; The eldest child (any gender) of the current holder has highest priority for the title. If for any reason they are invalid, the second-eldest child is considered, etc, then family members starting with eldest sibling, before proceeding to consider vassals. Illegitimate children are not considered. People under 13 will inherit the title, but a regent will rule in their place until they come of age, decided through the same ranking while requiring the regent to, of course, be at least 13 years old.

Appointment

The title of Emperor is transferred to the successor on death. Additionally, if the successor is allowed to rule without a regent (i.e. at least 13 years old) the current emperor may transfer their title at will. If the successor is also a child of the current holder, a majority vote of the holder's vassals may transfer the title to the successor.
